Explore repositories

The explore page is the discovery surface for public repositories on the instance. It lists every public repository in one place, shows a few key facts about each one, and lets you narrow the list with a text search. Use it to find projects to browse when you do not already know the owner and name.

Where to find it

• URL: gitvetrix.com/repositories/explore (the shortcut gitvetrix.com/explore sends you to the same page)
• Navigation: Open Repositories from the main menu, scroll to the Explore Repositories block, and select Browse all to open the full listing.

Browse public repositories

1. Open the explore page.
2. Scroll the list of public repositories. Each row shows the owner and repository name, a chip with the repository's main language (or Public when no language is detected), and — when they apply — the star count, fork count, and number of open issues, along with when the repository was last updated.
3. Select a row to open that repository.

The count beneath the list tells you how many repositories are shown.

Search the list

1. Type into the Search repositories… box at the top of the page.
2. The list filters as you type, matching against the repository name, its owner, and its description.
3. Clear the box to return to the full listing. The count beneath the list updates to show how many repositories match your search.

Tips

• Only public repositories appear here. Private and internal repositories are never listed, even to their own members.
• When the instance has no public repositories, the page shows No public repositories yet. When your search matches nothing, it shows No matching repositories and suggests trying a different search term.
