Maintenance

Maintenance mode takes the instance offline for everyone except administrators. While it is active, people who are not administrators see a maintenance page instead of the site, and you can set the message shown on that page. Use it while you perform work that should not overlap with normal traffic.

Where to find it

  • URL: gitvetrix.com/admin/maintenance
  • Navigation: In the admin area, open the Operations group in the sidebar and select Maintenance.

Check the current state

The Maintenance mode card shows the Current status as either Active or Inactive, with a matching badge. When maintenance mode is active, the card is highlighted so the state is easy to see at a glance.

Enable maintenance mode

Turning maintenance mode on interrupts everyone who is not an administrator.

  1. Select Enable maintenance mode.
  2. In the confirmation dialog, read the warning: all non-administrator users immediately see the maintenance page and their existing sessions are interrupted.
  3. Select Enable maintenance mode in the dialog to confirm.

The status changes to Active.

Disable maintenance mode

  1. Select Disable maintenance mode.

The status changes to Inactive and the site is available to everyone again. Disabling does not require confirmation.

Set the maintenance message

The Maintenance message is the text shown to people on the maintenance page.

  1. In the Maintenance message card, type your message in the Message field.
  2. Select Save message.

Save message becomes available only after you edit the field. You can set or change the message whether or not maintenance mode is currently active.
